The commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Hiroshima
bombing, which will fall in few days, coincides with similar
bombings in different regions of Iraq. The event raises, once
again, the issue of the relation between strength and ethics.
Three weeks before the two nuclear bombs were dropped on
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States undertook its first
nuclear experience in history on July 16th in the desert of
New Mexico in the US, which was a major turning point, not
only in the course of the war but in the course of humanity.
The bombing sector remained throughout the past 60 years an
area prohibited for public. Even the pictures that captured
the incident, were partly published then. It is only today
that the entire set of photos is displayed. It is indubitable
that the incident was overshadowed by the downfall
repercussions of the German defeat and Japan�s surrender at
the end of World War II... |
